The world we live in today is full of negativity. TV, newspapers, and social media feeds are inundated with reports of doom and gloom. Everyone and everything seems to be in disarray. How about you? Are you concerned over the direction society is headed? Do you wonder what the future will look like if things do not change?
If we want to see change…we have to be willing to become the changing agent.
Everyday you are presented with opportunities to impact someone’s life. The question becomes whether you will take on the challenge and become a person of positive influence. You have the ability to build others up. One word, one action step, one acknowledgment, one voice. One small step on your part can play a major role in impacting the life of another.
The antidote for negativity and despair is encouragement (Hebrews 3:13).
Everyone needs encouragement! Young or old, rich or poor, male or female. From the CEO of a major corporation to the the mom and pop store owners. No one is beyond the voice of discouragement. Good and evil co-exist, yet the sound of despondency can seemingly scream louder than the voice of hope. Silencing that echo is possible and necessary!
As an agent of change you can become the vehicle by which hope is restored…one person at a time. Everyone matters!
The person who is wondering if anyone even notices them, perhaps questioning if God even cares. One act of kindness on your part, gives God the ability to fuel that flame into a burning fire of hope…changing a life forever.
Last I checked, God is still on the throne (Hebrews 13:8), He is still an encourager (John 16:33), He still cheers for the underdog (Isaiah 43:2), He gives hope to the hopeless (John 10:10), He is the ultimate provider (John 1:3), He is the Great “I Am” (Exodus 3:14), and he works through people just like yourself!
To be such an agent requires deliberate intentionality.
Life is busy, agents of change must be conscious of how and where they spend their time. Investing in people must become a priority, starting with the family and progressing into the community. Giving of yourself to those who are feeling forgotten, unnoticed and unloved will yield great rewards.
The world is crying out for a message of HOPE.
Will you be an agent of change…bringing God’s love to a hurting world one person at a time? The need is real, it is in your home, your neighborhood, your community, your workplace and even your church.
As an agent of change you can take an active role in partnering with God on His mission to bring restoration to those who are hurting (Mark 2:17)!
Finding purpose in your everyday life can be as simple as offering encouragement to one person!
