I firmly believe anything worth doing is worth being passionate about! Those who know me, can affirm, I am highly addicted to living life to the fullest. I relish in the freedom to embrace life with an adventurous mindset. To look at life as a vast canvas waiting to be painted with an untold story of exploration. Seeking purpose in your everyday life is exciting…along with the thrills comes COMMITMENT!
Behind every great achiever you will find a life decorated with commitment.
What things are you committed to? What has your attention? What things in your life are marked…HIGH PRIORITY? Examining the answers to these questions will help determine if you are on course to uncovering your purpose and living the copious life God offers you. “Every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17a). I am willing to do whatever it takes to experience all that God has planned for me…how about you?
Commitment requires discipline and sacrifice…how badly do you want it?
God is committed to you, He promises to never leave you or forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Jesus died that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). This offer of abundant life came at great cost to God; God so loved the world that he GAVE His only son (John 3:16). God is committed.
Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul and with all your mind (Luke 10:27)… Are you all in?
Does God have your whole heart? Are you devoted to living a life that glorifies God everyday in every way? Before you quickly answer this question…take a moment and think about it.
God desires for your whole heart to be yielded to Him; all that you are and all that you desire. A promise of loyalty and devotion. A pledge to stay the course even when the road ahead is scary (2 Timothy 4:7).
If you are hiding, or protecting any area of your heart, you will be unable to live a life totally devoted to God and receive the bountiful life He has planned for you. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Once you have made the decision to ‘jump in’, the devil will be sure to post the warning signs… Danger beyond this point! A crafty designed scheme to scare you off, to lure you into believing that a life of adventure with God is too risky.
What do you do at this point? Do you back off, paralyzed by the memories of past hurts, fearful of ever jumping again?
Perhaps you are reading this today and your heart is pounding at the thought of taking a leap of faith. You prefer to hide behind the walls of self protection. Honestly, these walls are only a facade, they don’t keep pain out but rather, they prevent you from living life to the fullest.
God is singling you out today! He is calling you by name…he is saying…JUMP! Come to me all who are burdened and heavy laden and I will give you rest (Matthew 11:28).
God knows the areas of your pain, hurt, disappointment, rejection, fear, abandonment, shame and insecurities. Allow Him, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to unlock the chains keeping your heart in hiding. Allow Him to set you free to enjoy the excitement of living a life of purpose and adventure. “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland” (Isaiah 43:18-19).
God desires to be intimately involved in your everyday life.
The Holy Spirit is drawing you onto himself so He can set you free and bring you into the marvelous life of purpose. The plans He has for you are for good and not harm, hope and not fear. (Jeremiah 29:11).
Be encouraged, take the leap of faith, jump into the glorious waters leading to a life long adventure with God. God knows the way to your purpose. He is eager to show you how leaping…. leads to resting. Resting in the everlasting arms of the Father, is the safest place you could ever be (Psalms 91:1-2).
May you have the courage to JUMP ALL IN…embrace the plunge, live a life committed to God.
