Toddlers are amazing! Watching a small child as they wake up in the morning will fill any heart with joy! It is easy to see the wonderment which fills their eyes. They are eager to uncover the mysteries which the day beholds. Experimenting with new things is their top priority, they see each day as yet another journey of discovery. Eagerly and unashamedly they ask question after question in their search for wisdom. They will make the most of every opportunity to learn and explore. The confidence they display at a very early age enables them to conqueror task after task. Boldly, they will be the first to express how wonderful they are, not waiting for or needing anyone else’s approval. Children have a built in tenacity which grants them the courage to keep on trying even in the face of defeat, and to conqueror when all odds are against them. Life through the eyes of a toddler is priceless!
Priceless…those things which are delightfully invaluable.
Do you see your life as priceless, or has your life become monotonous? Things which used to excite you, no longer fuel your passion. Before long you find yourself day in and day out going through the motions, unable to uncover the purpose in your day. The struggle to accomplish goals or reach ‘success’ (whatever that may mean for you), has overshadowed the thrill of being alive. Sadly, this is truth for so many adults.
Children, unlike adults, do not ‘wait’ for outside stimuli to make them happy, their joyfulness is an attitude which comes from within and it is contagious. It is the appreciation of being alive which propels them into the excitement of each new day. Children have an innate ability to see life through the eyes of joy. Perhaps this is why Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these” (Mark 10:14b). The children would approach Jesus with no reservations, the adults attempted to squelch their fervor, Jesus always beckoned the children onto himself.
What or who has repressed the passion within your heart to live life to the fullest? Jesus overruled those trying to suppress the children and He validated the joy within their hearts. He desires the same for you…A heart filled with wonderment and excitement. A heart which is uninhibited to live and love.
If you are reading this today and you would say, “I have loss my childlike amazement for life”, READ ON! You can uncover the thrill of being alive again and embrace life with childlike enthusiasm.
Refocus your priorities towards those things which are priceless to you. Surprisingly, you may find how far off course you have drifted. Don’t waste another moment… seize every day as the ‘gift’ it was always intended to be. Choose to grasp every day with care and appreciation.
Be childlike:
- Choose to be happy for each day you are alive on this earth. (Psalms 119:24).
- Give yourself permission to experiment, explore your dreams. Look for the new things set before you (Isaiah 43:19).
- Ask questions, inquire, search for knowledge and truth (James 1:5).
- Seek out those things which are important to you and trust they are attainable (Psalms 37:4).
- Be bold and confident (Romans 8:37).
- Believe in yourself, trust you are capable (Philippians 4:13).
- Be proud of yourself, do not depend on the approval of others to validate your worth. God already approves of you (1Samuel 16:7).
- Never…never…never… give up on yourself or your dreams (Isaiah 41:10).
God’s mercies are new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). When a toddler finally surrenders to going to bed, they usually pass out from exhaustion, truly living each day to the fullest, only to awake and repeat…
Finding purpose in your everyday life will rekindle your passion for living every day to the fullest.
Let it be said of you…

Lucy Ann, thanks so much for your continual commitment to serving the Lord.
This is amazing, I had a dream last night…
In The Dream:
My granddaughter (a toddler) was climbing all over me to wake me up. She was smiling and filled with amazing joy. I was so overcome by her beauty, happiness and zeal first thing in the morning. Her eyes were sparkling with indescribable joy. My son in-law was present in the dream. I turned to him as my granddaughter climbing on my chest with sparkling eyes and said: “what a joy it is to wake up to this little bundle of sweetness in the morning”! End of dream.
Your article has inspired me in amazing ways this morning. God’s got my number for sure and so do you!
Blessings sister!
